There's a good chance you'll already have all the ingredients for this dish and won't need to run to the store. The ingredients seem so simplistic, yet the flavor is simply fabulous! The photo shows the stroganoff served over whole wheat noodles, though you can use any type of pasta you prefer.

Ingredients

1 1/2 to 2 pounds lean ground beef

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 cup beef bouillon or broth

1 medium onion, chopped

3 tablespoons sour cream, room temperature

Directions

Brown ground beef in skillet on medium heat just until pink is gone (about 7 minutes). Drain grease from skillet. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper to taste. Add onions to meat and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.  In another saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Blend flour into butter, then gradually stir in beef broth, stirring and cooking until thickened and smooth. Pour sauce into beef and stir. Cover and cook on low for 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream and heat through but do not boil. Serve over noodles or rice.
