These slices are a nice change from traditional garlic bread. The chile peppers in this spread are mild, but add a nice "punch" to this festive bread. Great served with Mexican dishes and salads.

Ingredients

1 loaf sourdough or French bread

3 cups Jack cheese, grated

1 4oz. can diced green chiles

1 cup mayonnaise

Mix all ingredients except bread in a medium mixing bowl or electric mixing bowl. Mix by hand or with electric mixer until well-blended and smooth. Spread on bread slices and place under broiler until lightly browned (about 2 minutes). You may also slice entire loaf in half lengthwise and spread mixture over both long cuts of bread, then broil. Once broiled, cut into 2 inch-wide strips.
